Local Reefer Company Driver (W-2) - Bayside, NY

Become part of the Food Authority team in Bayside, NY, and receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus! We are in search of experienced CDL A Delivery Drivers to ensure the timely delivery of temperature-controlled products while exceeding customer expectations.

Shift: Daily dispatch between 8pm-9pm, home every day.

Weekly Salary: $1,850.00

Driver Qualifications:

Minimum Driver Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 3 years.
• Current driver’s license and DOT medical card required.
• No CDL accidents in the last 36 months.
• Clean driving record without major violations or suspensions in the last 36 months.
• Must be available to work overnight, particularly on Friday and Sunday nights.

Preferred Driver Requirements:

• At least 1 year of food distribution experience preferred.
• Previous experience with liftgate deliveries is beneficial.
• Minimum of 1 year of material handling equipment experience.
• Experience working overnight shifts is advantageous.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Guarantee the safe delivery of temperature-controlled goods while maintaining FIFO inventory levels.
• Oversee Driver Apprentice/Helper performance.
• Drive safely to various delivery locations.
• Load and unload products according to specifications.
• Maintain accurate driving logs and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly.
• Quick responsiveness to sounds and ability to navigate uneven terrain safely.
• Capacity to see and respond to potentially dangerous situations, especially at night.
