Local Reefer Company Driver (W-2) - Brentwood, NY

Join the Food Authority team in Brentwood, NY, and receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus! We are actively seeking experienced CDL A Delivery Drivers to manage temperature-controlled deliveries while providing exceptional service.

Shift: Daily dispatch between 8pm-9pm, home every day.

Weekly Salary: $1,850.00

Driver Qualifications:

Minimum Driver Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• A minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 3 years is necessary.
• Current driver’s license and DOT medical card required.
• No CDL accidents in the last 36 months.
• Clean driving history with no major violations or suspensions in the last 36 months.
• Must be available for overnight work, particularly on Friday and Sunday nights.

Preferred Driver Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year in food distribution experience.
• Previous experience with liftgate deliveries is a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year of material handling equipment experience.
• Prior experience working overnight shifts is advantageous.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safe shipment of temperature-controlled products while maintaining FIFO inventory levels.
• Supervise Driver Apprentice/Helper tasks.
• Deliver products safely and on time.
• Load and unload products according to customer specifications.
• Maintain accurate driving logs and complete necessary paperwork.
• Comply with DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly.
• Quick responsiveness to sounds and ability to navigate uneven terrain safely.
• Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations, especially in low-light conditions.
