Local Reefer Company Driver (W-2) - Stamford, CT

Join the Food Authority team in Stamford, CT, and take advantage of a $5,000 sign-on bonus! We are seeking skilled CDL A Delivery Drivers to manage the delivery of temperature-controlled products to our valued customers. Experience unmatched service and support as a member of our Family.

Shift: Daily dispatch between 8pm-9pm, home every day.

Weekly Salary: $1,850.00

Driver Qualifications:

Minimum Driver Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age.
• At least 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 3 years.
• Valid driver’s license and current DOT medical card required.
• No CDL accidents in the last 36 months.
• No major violations or suspensions in the last 36 months.
• Ability to work overnight and on Friday and Sunday nights.

Preferred Driver Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of food distribution experience.
• Experience with liftgate deliveries.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment.
• Prior overnight shift experience.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safe shipment of temperature-controlled products, maintaining FIFO inventory levels.
• Manage Driver Apprentice/Helper.
• Deliver products safely and within deadlines.
• Load and unload products, adhering to customer specifications.
• Maintain accurate driving logs and complete daily paperwork.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Execute pre- and post-trip inspections.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift between 25 to 80 pounds regularly.
• Quick responsiveness to sounds and ability to navigate uneven terrain.
• Capacity to see and react to dangerous situations, especially at night.
