OTR Dry van Company driver (W-2) Job in Newport News, VA by HMD Trucking
Requirements
- 1 year of CDL-A OTR experience
- No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years
- No more than 3 moving violations or 3 preventable accidents
- No excessive speeding (over 21 mph) in the last 3 years
- Must be above 23 years old at the time of applying

HMD Trucking is recruiting experienced OTR CDL-A dry van drivers based in Newport News, VA to move freight across the country. Drivers operate modern tractors (under 3 years) with APUs, inverters and sleepers, supported by in-house maintenance. Compensation starts at 65 CPM with weekly averages near 2,500 miles and additional safety, inspection and referral bonuses. Home every two weeks and full benefits are available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate dry van equipment on long-haul OTR lanes.
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections, secure loads and maintain logs.
- Communicate with dispatch and follow assigned routes and schedules.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL-A and at least 12 months verifiable driving experience.
- Professional attitude, commitment to safety and clean inspections.
