Local Reefer Company Driver (W-2) - Greenwich, CT

Become a part of the Food Authority team in Greenwich, CT, and enjoy a $5,000 sign-on bonus for joining us! We are seeking experienced CDL A Delivery Drivers to manage temperature-controlled product deliveries with a commitment to excellence.

Shift: Daily dispatch between 8pm-9pm, home every day.

Weekly Salary: $1,850.00

Driver Qualifications:

Minimum Driver Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• A minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 3 years is necessary.
• Current driver’s license and DOT medical card required.
• No CDL accidents in the last 36 months.
• No major driving violations or suspensions in the last 36 months.
• Must be available for overnight work, including Friday and Sunday nights.

Preferred Driver Requirements:

• 1 year of prior food distribution experience preferred.
• Experience in delivering with a liftgate.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment is a plus.
• Experience working overnight shifts is advantageous.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safe delivery of temperature-controlled products while maintaining FIFO inventory levels at customer locations.
• Oversee the performance of a Driver Apprentice/Helper.
• Drive safely and deliver products on time.
• Load and unload products accurately per customer specifications.
• Maintain accurate driving logs and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards meticulously.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to regularly lift weights of 25/50/80 pounds.
• Quick response to auditory signals and safe navigation over uneven surfaces.
• Ability to assess and react to potentially dangerous situations, especially in low-light conditions.
