Local Reefer Company Driver (W-2) - Long Beach, NY

Become a part of the Food Authority team and receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus! We are currently looking for experienced CDL A Delivery Drivers to oversee the delivery of temperature-controlled products.

Shift: Daily dispatch from 8pm to 9pm, home every day.

Weekly Salary: $1,850.00

Driver Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 21 years old.
• At least 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 3 years.
• A valid driver's license and current DOT medical card are essential.
• No CDL accidents in the past 36 months.
• No major violations or suspensions in the last 36 months.
• Must be available for overnight shifts, including Fridays and Sundays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in food distribution.
• Familiarity with delivering using a liftgate.
• Experience with material handling equipment.
• Previous overnight shift experience.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe delivery of temperature-controlled products in undamaged condition.
• Accurately count goods at customer locations while adhering to FIFO standards.
• Manage Driver Apprentice/Helper.
• Safely drive vehicles to designated locations for product deliveries.
• Load and unload products from trucks or trailers.
• Organize products according to customer specifications.
• Maintain driving logs and complete daily paperwork.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Follow scheduled delivery routes.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift various weights (25/50/80 pounds) regularly.
• Quick response capability to sounds and ability to navigate uneven surfaces.
• Capacity to identify and respond to hazardous situations.
• Good night vision for safe driving.
