Local Reefer Company Driver (W-2) - West Babylon, NY

Become a part of Food Authority and benefit from a $5,000 sign-on bonus! We are on the lookout for experienced CDL A Delivery Drivers who can ensure the timely delivery of temperature-controlled products.

Shift: Daily dispatch between 8pm and 9pm, home every night.

Weekly Salary: $1,850.00

Driver Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• A minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 3 years.
• Current driver's license and DOT medical card required.
• No CDL accidents in the previous 36 months.
• No major violations or suspensions in the last 36 months.
• Must be available for overnight shifts, including Fridays and Sundays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in food distribution.
• Prior liftgate delivery experience.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment.
• Experience working overnight shifts.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Ensure the delivery of undamaged temperature-controlled products.
• Accurately count inventory at customer locations while adhering to FIFO standards.
• Manage a Driver Apprentice/Helper.
• Safely drive to customer locations for product deliveries.
• Load and unload goods from trucks or trailers.
• Organize products according to customer specifications.
• Maintain driving logs and complete all necessary documentation.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Adhere to the designated route for daily deliveries.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift weights of 25/50/80 pounds regularly.
• Quick response capability to sounds.
• Ability to traverse uneven terrain safely.
• Capacity to identify and respond to hazardous situations.
• Good night vision for safe driving.
