OTR Dry van Company driver (W-2) Job in Lake Charles, LA by HMD Trucking
Requirements
- 1 year of CDL-A OTR experience
- No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years
- No more than 3 moving violations or 3 preventable accidents
- No excessive speeding (over 21 mph) in the last 3 years
- Must be above 23 years old at the time of applying

Operate coast-to-coast dry van routes with HMD Trucking out of Lake Charles, LA. We’re hiring experienced solo CDL-A drivers who want dependable freight, modern equipment, and a driver-first culture.
Your role:
- Drive OTR dry van tractor-trailers on national lanes, ensuring timely, secure deliveries.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and report maintenance or cargo issues to dispatch.
- Work with operations on routing, detention, and delivery windows.
What HMD provides: modern trucks under 3 years (APUs, inverters, sleepers), in-house maintenance support, competitive mileage pay starting at 65¢/mi with weekly averages near 2,500 miles, plus safety, inspection and referral bonuses, home every two weeks, and full benefits including health, dental, vision, PTO and 401(k).
Qualifications: Valid CDL-A and a minimum of 12 months verifiable driving experience.
