Local Reefer Company Driver (W-2) - Riverside, CT

Join Food Authority in Riverside, CT, and secure a $5,000 sign-on bonus! We are looking for experienced CDL A Delivery Drivers to deliver temperature-controlled products while ensuring exceptional service.

Shift: Daily dispatch between 8pm-9pm, home every day.

Weekly Salary: $1,850.00

Driver Qualifications:

Minimum Driver Requirements:

• Candidates must be 21 years of age or older.
• A minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 3 years is required.
• Current driver’s license and DOT medical card are mandatory.
• No CDL accidents in the last 36 months.
• Clean driving record with no major violations or suspensions in the last 36 months.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts, especially on Friday and Sunday nights.

Preferred Driver Requirements:

• At least 1 year of food distribution experience is preferred.
• Previous experience with liftgate deliveries is a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year of material handling equipment experience.
• Prior experience working overnight shifts is advantageous.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Ensure the delivery of temperature-controlled products in perfect condition, maintaining FIFO inventory levels.
• Manage the performance of a Driver Apprentice/Helper.
• Safely drive to designated delivery locations.
• Load and unload products according to customer specifications.
• Maintain accurate driving logs and complete necessary paperwork.
• Comply with DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds frequently.
• Quick responsiveness to sounds and ability to navigate uneven terrain safely.
• Capacity to see and respond to dangerous situations, especially in low-light conditions.
