Requirements

  • 1 year of CDL-A OTR experience
  • No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years
  • No more than 3 moving violations or 3 preventable accidents
  • No excessive speeding (over 21 mph) in the last 3 years
  • Must be above 23 years old at the time of applying

Vacancy description

Run coast-to-coast dry van freight for HMD Trucking from the Washington, DC area. This OTR solo CDL-A role focuses on safe, efficient deliveries with strong mileage pay (starting at 65 CPM) and weekly averages near 2,500 miles.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer on long-haul routes, following DOT and company procedures.
  • Complete accurate logs, pre/post-trip inspections, and protect cargo integrity.
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch regarding routing and load status.

Drivers operate late-model tractors with APUs, inverters and sleepers, backed by reliable in-house maintenance. Home every two weeks. Benefits include health, dental, vision, PTO and a 401(k). Must have CDL-A and 12 months verifiable experience.
